What you’re holding?

It’s a lot.

You don’t have to do it alone.

When your life is helping others, it can feel hard to ask for help.

I’m so glad you’re here.

I know how risky it can feel to acknowledge that you’re struggling when other people rely on you to support their wellbeing.

You might have tried to keep up appearances. On the surface it looks like you’re gliding along effortlessly, but out of sight your legs are wildly paddling to keep it together.

What you can expect from me

I respect that you are the expert on your own life and experiences. My expertise is in supporting you to use the arts to make sense of your life’s complexity and challenges.

This means:

  • I won’t give you advice or tell you what I think you should do

  • Instead, I will support you to use a variety of art materials to explore, express, and make sense of what’s happening in your life

  • I won’t analyse or interpret what you create in a session to make assumptions about who you are

  • Instead, I will describe what I notice about your artwork and creative process to help you connect the dots

  • I won’t diagnose you or give you labels

  • Instead, I will support you to use the arts to explore your relationship with your diagnosis

  • I won’t judge your artworks, your artistic skills or your creative abilities

  • Instead, I will pay attention to your process and the way different materials support your inquiry

The next steps to get started

Vibe check

The next step is to book a vibe check call to get a feel for each other and make sure I am the right fit for you.

The vibe check is a free 15 minute, no obligation call where we can talk about what’s happening for you and you can ask any questions you might have. If either of us think the vibes aren’t quite right, I am happy to help connect with another therapist who can better meet your needs.

Make a time

If at the end of the vibe check the vibes feel right, we book your first appointment.

We can do this at the end of the vibe check call, or you can book your appointment online.

Paperwork

With your first appointment in the diary, I’ll send you some documents that go into the nitty gritty of how I work. This covers important details about confidentiality, communication, charging, and consent. It will ask for your personal details and for you to confirm you’ve received and understood this information.

First session

Building on our first 15 minute chat, in our first session I’ll ask you to share a bit more about what is happening for you in more detail, and we’ll talk about what a good outcome for our work together might look like. We can also discuss any questions you have about the paperwork I shared.

You can expect more talking and less art making in the first session. In later sessions, making art and reflecting on what you have made will become the main focus of our time together.

Wondering if we’d make a good team?

Schedule a free 15 minute phone call. You can tell me about what’s going on for you, and we can talk through any questions you might have.

Investing in yourself

I believe that therapy should be accessible to all who seek it. Sliding scale options are available.
